Ladies Finger Pepper Saute





Just another simple ladies finger recipe that goes with rice. Cooking ladies finger may be slightly tricky 'coz water is not added for the dry dish, hence oil is the only alternative. The amount of oil can be kept less by lightly stirring the vegetable two to three times and covered cooking.


the recipe

 ladies finger, chopped into round pieces - 400 gms
onion - 2
curry leaves - 1 sprig
pepper powder - 3/4 tsp
turmeric - 1/4 tsp
salt - to taste
oil - 3 tbsp

the method

 Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and stir in the onion. When translucent add curry leaves, turmeric and pepper powder. Stir for few seconds, turn to low flame and add the ladies finger and salt and mix well. Cover and cook for two minutes. Open, stir and add 1 more tbsp oil. Cover and cook till done.
